A woman was shot and critically wounded in the South Shore neighborhood Thursday afternoon. Around 4 p.m., the woman was shot at 6826 S. Cornell Ave., just south of Jackson Park. She was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was arrested and charged Wednesday with shooting and killing a woman on the city's Far South Side. Ishmael Williams, 38, was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting that left a 37-year-old woman dead early Tuesday morning in the 10100 block of South Aberdeen Street in the Washington Heights neighborhood.

Chicago Police were called to 68th and Cornell Avenue in South Shore Neighborhood. Police said it appears Tatanisha Jackson, 43, got home and was approached by boy, 17, with a gun. Police allege the teen then shot Jackson in the head four times.

CHICAGO - An arrest has been made in a Washington Heights shooting that left a 37-year-old woman dead. The incident occurred just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near 101st Street and Aberdeen Street. Chicago police said the victim was inside a home when someone began shooting outside.
