Authorities say Moroccan security forces stopped groups of people who sought to force their way across the border into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta.

Chaos erupted on Sunday near the fence separating Morocco and Ceuta, a Spanish enclave located on the African nation’s coast, as hundreds of young Moroccan men coordinated an attempt to illegally cross the border.

Moroccan security forces have thwarted a mass migration attempt into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta, following social media calls for a large-scale border crossing. According to the Spanish Interior Ministry,

Groups of people, who had heeded the calls on social media to breach the border fence and reach Spain, dispersed.
