Firefighters are working to put out a downtown Los Angeles vacant building fire Thursday, extended on their truck ladders, battling dense smoke as well.  The fire was reported just before 11 a.m. at a four-story building at S.

It happened at around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Fifth Street and S. Broadway, according to Los Angeles Police Department investigators.
