Several events, poised to celebrate this period, are slated across Boulder County. Akin to the vibrancy of the cultures in focus, the festival calendar promises to fully embrace and showcase the rich traditions and crafts characteristic of Hispanic and Latinx communities.

“ Our Roots, Our Future ,” is the theme for campus-wide celebrations and observances during Latinx Heritage Month at Duke University, which ends October 15. It was not without considerable challenges, both past and present, but by the late 1990s, Hispanics were the fastest growing segment of the American population.

The Iowa Latino Heritage Festival kicks off this weekend in Western Gateway Park in. A new exhibit ‘Heritage and Identity’ will highlight local Latino and Indigenous artists and their work.
