Several Australian airlines on Wednesday cancelled their flights to and from the Indonesian resort island of Bali, after a nearby volcano catapulted an ash tower miles into the sky. Australian tourists make up one of the biggest groups of tourists that visit the resort island every year.

Virgin has confirmed all flights in and out of Denpasar are cancelled today after multiple airlines grounded planes overnight. The grounded planes overnight and this morning are a result of Indonesia's Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki volcano spewing towering columns of hot ash high into the air since a huge eruption last week.

A volcano in eastern Indonesia erupted again on Saturday, sending a massive ash cloud nearly nine kilometers (over five miles) into the sky.

Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Australia have cancelled flights to and from Bali until at least Wednesday afternoon.
